NCRIS Progress Report 1 - July-Dec 2013

This document is a brief report on the activities within Australian Plasma Fusion Research Facility
between July 1 st 2013 and December 31 st 2013 during which time operations and maintenance
were supported in part by NCRIS funding. The Facility comprises two devices, the H-1NF heliac and
the MAGPIE plasma interaction experiment, and associated instrumentation (‘diagnostics’), data
accessibility, power, heating and cooling systems. Although considerable effort was expended in
finishing off the remaining milestones of the Super Science upgrade in the second semester of
2013, this had little effect on the availability of the facilities. The highlights and activities are
summarised below.
